As Controller for WealthMD, Valerie oversees the firm’s financial reporting, accounting, and internal operations. With more than two decades of experience in financial services, she brings both strategic insight and practical expertise to the firm’s day-to-day operations.

Valerie began her career in 2002 as a financial advisor for MassMutual. Her background as both a CFP® professional and former advisor gives her a unique perspective on the financial planning process and the operational systems that support it.

A proud Atlanta native, Valerie earned dual degrees in Finance and Economics from Georgia State University. She completed the University of Georgia’s Program for Financial Planning, after which she earned her CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation.

Outside the office, Valerie is passionate about giving back. Following her older son’s diagnosis with celiac disease, she became a dedicated advocate for awareness, research, and improved treatments. She serves on the board of Beyond Celiac, previously served on the board of the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers, and volunteered for many years in the NICU at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.

Valerie lives in Atlanta with her husband, Seth, and their two sons, Aaron and Jacob. When she’s not working or volunteering, you’ll find her traveling with her family, spending time with friends, reading, or cheering on her boys at their various sporting events.
